Cong. Mangaong, DTI Kalinga collaborate to rejuvenate the coffee industry

Tabuk City, Kalinga─Congressman Allen Jesse Mangaoang together with the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) under the new Provincial Director Renie Ramos commits to intensify collaboration to advance the rejuvenation of the coffee industry in Kalinga.


This development highlighted the meeting of the new DTI Provincial Director and the Congressman as they discussed the plans and programs to advance the interest of local entrepreneurs and the public in connection with the endeavor.

In an interview, Congressman Mangaoang informed that they talked on how to strengthen their supports to the farmers in terms of coffee product packaging, trade and marketing.


He also pointed that there is a need to get the support of the Department of Agriculture to provide the planting materials and equipment for the farmers, as the agency’s counterpart to improve the coffee industry.

He also mentioned that the improvement of several farm-to-market roads through the Philippine Rural Development Project (PRDP) that include the Banneng-Gombowoy road, Bulanao- Amlao road, Cattabogan-Wagud road in Pinukpuk, Bado Dangwa-Guilayon-Nambucayan road, and concreting of Magnao road are all intended for the rehabilitation of the coffee industry.

Mangaoang is hopeful that with the concerted efforts of the lead agencies and local government units to help the farmers, they will be able to rehabilitate and expand the coffee production in the province.

Meanwhile, the new DTI Provincial Director ensures his support to provide technical assistance and the needed DTI programs for the yKalinga farmers.
