Conner, Apayao – More people in Apayao and neighboring provinces in need of medical services shall now be served by the Conner District Hospital, with its status elevated to Level 2 hospital with an authorized capacity of 100 beds.

As indicated in the awarded license to operate, CDH started as a level 2 hospital on November 6, 2023.

Gaining said status, the hospital now joins another hospital in the province, the Farnorth Luzon General Hospital and Training Center (FNLGHT) in providing medical care not just for those needing minor care and supervision but also for critically ill patients and those in need of specialist doctors for gynecology and pediatric services.

The medical facility, as it leveled up, now has an organized staff of qualified and competent personnel with a Chief of Hospital/Medical Director and appropriate board-certified Clinical Department Heads.

Likewise, CDH is now departmentalized and equipped with the service capabilities needed to support board-certified or eligible medical specialists and other licensed physicians rendering services in the specialties of medicine, pediatrics, obstetrics and gynecology, surgery, their sub-specialties, and ancillary services.

Moreover, facilities such as a general intensive care unit (ICU) for critically ill patients, a neonatal intensive care unit (NICU), a high-risk pregnancy unit (HRPU), a DOH-licensed tertiary clinical laboratory, and a DOH-licensed Level 2 imaging facility with mobile x-rays inside the institution and the capability for contrast examination are now available in the hospital.

The medical facility now also offers respiratory therapy services.

Said development, according to the hospital, ‘is a proof of CDH's dedication to continuously improve healthcare services and contribute to the overall well-being of its patients.’

“Conner District Hospital has come a long way since its inception and is now a level 2 hospital with an authorized capacity of 100 beds.

The dedication and hard work of the hospital's leaders, past and present, including Medical Center Chief Dr. Nelson O. Rigor, and the committed staff have contributed to this achievement. However, the hospital's pursuit of better care and continuous development remains an ongoing quest,” CDH wrote on their Facebook page.
