Cordillera hunk wins 2023 Ginoong Pilipinas’ Best in Festival Costume

Mt. Province, Philippines – Rickmhar P. Bayonao who represented Cordillera region in Ginoong Pilipinas 2023 won Best in Festival Costume and was named Mr. Congeniality during the May 20 finals at IL Corso Lifemalls’ Central Piazza Amphitheater in Cebu.

Following a three-year hiatus brought about by the pandemic, the Ginoong Pilipinas pageant made a triumphant comeback. The search aspires to be the top male beauty pageant in the Philippines and the counterpart of Binibining Pilipinas.

The Ginoong Cordillera hails from Masla, Tadian town. He was crowned Mr. Student Leader of the Philippines 2019.

In 2022, he settled as the first runner-up in the Mr. and Ms. Kalinogan Mountain Province. He likewise bagged Best in Advocacy/Interview, Best in Ethnic Wear, and Best in Formal Wear.

Bayonao was named Mr. Mountain Province 2022. He represented the same province in the Search for Mr. and Miss Cordillera Autonomy Youth Ambassador last year.

Before the swimwear photoshoot, the Cordilleran candidate disclosed he felt worried that he might be judged or canceled by the community. However, he felt freedom throughout the shoot which helped him build self-confidence.

The search, he shared, is the first national pageant he participated and is grateful for his experience and exposure.

The 24-year-old candidate has nothing but gratitude for all his supporters that aided him to reach the Ginoong Pilipinas Top 10 finalist.
