Updated: Nov 28, 2022

Tabuk City, Kalinga – As the province of Kalinga breached the 1,000-mark of active COVID-19 cases, Governor Ferdinand Tubban, during his radio program aired on January 24, reminded the local chief executives to monitor health protocol compliance of residents in their areas of responsibility.

As of Monday, January 24, the Provincial Health Office reports an increasing trend of COVID-19 cases, with a total of 1,097 active COVID-19 cases.

Most of the active cases came from the city of Tabuk with 820, followed by the municipality of Rizal with 154, Lubuagan with 43, Pinukpuk with 24, Pasil with 23, Balbalan with 13, Tanudan with 11, and Tinglayan with 9.

Aiming to prevent further spread of the dreaded virus and lower the alert level of the province, the governor along with Provincial Health Officer, Dr. Edward Tandingan reiterated their call for the leaders of the local government units to strictly implement the protocols they crafted, and for the public to follow minimum public health standards.

“The health workers are really doing their job, ti ayan na laeng tatta ket diay support of the people a sumabat met kuma ta kakaasi dagiti health workers a maysa met lang a matamtamaan,” said the governor.

Tubban likewise encouraged those who are not yet vaccinated to submit themselves for their protection. He underscored that border checkpoints that have been established require vaccination cards following the order of the national government.

“Mamatiak a babaen ti panagtitinnulong ken panagtulnog ti tunggal maysa, nangangruna kadatayo a kakailyan, ket bumaba ti kaso ken alert level tayo,” added the governor.
