Dagupan Public Market reacts to first record of Covid-19 death with stricter protocols

Tabuk City, Kalinga―Dagupan Centro Punong Barangay George Esteras announced imposition of stricter health protocols and one way entrance and exit to all market goers and vendors of the Dagupan Public Market starting this November 10.

This is in relation to the first CoViD-19 related death recorded in the city this November 09, 2020 with the passing away of a 53-year-old man who was an employee of the National Irrigation Administration (NIA) Kalinga.

Dagupan Centro Punong Brgy. George Esteras said in an interview that the announcement was decided upon the approval of the concerned authorities which include the market administrator, City Local Government Unit (CLGU), and City Health Office (CHO).

All individuals who intend to enter the public are advised to wear face mask or face shield and to observe social distancing, otherwise may not enter the said place.

Additionally, the parents are reminded not to bring their children to the marketplace as much as possible for their safety.

“Dagiti apan agmarket, aminen ket macheck tapno masursurwan da siguraduen da nga naka usar da ti face mask o face shield ken haan da agitugtugot ti ubbing” he uttered.

Meantime, said protocols are imposed and checked with the help of the barangay officials, POSO personnel, and police personnel.

As of November 09, city has 36 active cases for confirmed CoVid-19, 1 active suspect/Person under Investigation (PUI) and 311 possible/Persons under Monitoring (PUMs).
