26-year-old Daisy told Guru Press Cordillera that she decided to enter the PMMA after finishing her Bachelor of Science in Criminology at the Kalinga State University for her family.

“I entered the academy carrying the dreams and hopes of my family. I want to give them a brighter future and a happy life,” she said.

She added that studying and training at the PMMA was challenging and that she struggled a lot.

In those times she felt like giving up, she said she drew strength from her parents who supported her since her day one in the academy.

Daisy recounted prayers made her stronger in those moments she felt like she couldn’t continue her journey at PMMA.

“I took one step at a time and enjoyed the process because I know that it will be worth it,” she expressed.

Surviving the pioneer institution in maritime education in the country, Daisy Rose advises the next PMMAers to deal with difficult situations and not let challenges defeat them.

“To those who want to join the long blue line, believe in yourselves and commit all to God,” she added. Daisy will be joining the Philippine Navy.
