Dead man found floating in Tabuk City irrigation canal

Tabuk City, Kalinga — A lifeless body of a man was found floating in the irrigation canal in Sitio Maledda, Ipil, at around 1:00 PM this January 11, 2022.

In an initial report of the Tabuk City Police Station, the body of the still-unidentified man was discovered by a farmer who is a resident of Sitio Maledda around 1:00 PM when he went to the irrigation to take a bath.

According to him, he saw this male cadaver wearing an orange t-shirt and black short pants floating at the irrigation. The farmer decided to pull the body to the side of the canal and out of the water and later called the authorities.

Together with concerned citizens, personnel of the Special Action Force, 1st Kalinga Provincial Mobile Force Company, and Bureau of Fire Protection recovered the body.

The Kalinga Provincial Crime Laboratory Office already processed the crime scene, while the cadaver was brought to TAMPCO Funeral Home for postmortem examination.

Investigation of the case is still ongoing. The police are still figuring out whether the death was by accident or murder.
