Dead baby found buried at Kiangan, Ifugao riverside

Ifugao, Philippines – A newly born baby found beside the river in Mungayang, Kiangan, Ifugao on Tuesday, April 11, is believed to have died of suffocation.

Photos of the infant uploaded by a netizen on Facebook showed the baby has missing body parts and that the neonate’s head was wrapped in cellophane.

The doctor who examined the cadaver revealed that the infant was only days old and died of asphyxia which happens when the body doesn’t get enough oxygen.

The remains were turned over to the Rural Health Unit in Kiangan.

Meantime, an initial investigation by the Kiangan police disclosed that the neonate was buried beside the river. Further investigation is ongoing to determine who is behind the burial of the baby.
