Dead rider found at a canal in Appas, Tabuk

Updated: Apr 6, 2022

Tabuk City, Kalinga – A decomposing body of a rider was found at a canal in Barangay Appas Friday morning, March 25, 2022.

The Tabuk City Police Station – Traffic Management Unit discovered the said body around 7:20 in the morning. They found him lying face down on the water with his red Honda TMX motorcycle beside him.

The responding personnel also noticed that the dead man who was identified as a certain Ramel Jimenez Caro, 34, laborer, with postal address in Poblacion South East Zone, Lemery, Iloilo was already at a decomposing phase due to its foul odor.

Investigation revealed that Caro who was a laborer at a construction site didn’t report to work for three days. His boss told the police they didn’t suspect anything about his absence since the victim used to only report to work when he wanted to.

The police further disclosed that his motorcycle was ‘on switch’ and it is at 4th gear indicating that he was driving at a fast speed. This can also be substantiated by the impact damage at the front light assembly of the motorcycle and the debris found at the canal.

The Scene of the Crime Operatives Kalinga has already processed the crime scene, and the cadaver was brought to TAMPCO Funeral home.
