DICT recognizes Kalinga PLGU’s ICT improvement initiatives

Tabuk City, Kalinga - The Provincial Government of Kalinga, through the LUMIN-AWA eight-point agenda of Governor James  Edduba, has been steadfast in improving Information and Technology in the province, and thus the recent recognition of its efforts.

Information and Communication Technology (ICT) advancements play a crucial role in shaping various industries in today's digital age, and Kalinga has worked hard in order not to be left behind.

Among the initiatives conducted by the PLGU, in cooperation with the Provincial Governor-Information Communications and Management Systems, include the ICT training for the community and government employees, and the installation of Very Small Aperture Terminals (VSATs) and Starlink terminals in geographically isolated and disadvantaged areas (GIDAs).

With this, the Department of Information and Communications Technology – Cordillera awarded a plaque of recognition to Kalinga PLGU.

The award was received by CMT Jaypee Songday during the National ICT Month Celebration held last June 21, 2024, at the Baguio Convention and Cultural Center, Baguio City.

It was turned over to the provincial officials and representatives from the Office of the Provincial Governor-Information Communications Management Systems on July 8.
