Dismissed police officer caught with P1.1M marijuana in Quezon, Isabela


Quezon, Isabela – A once law enforcer ended up behind bars and will be facing drug charges after he was caught carrying suspected marijuana on Sunday night in Quezon.

The suspect hidden by the police under the name ‘David’ was brought to the attention of the authorities by a concerned citizen late night on Nov. 05.


David was described to be acting suspicious which caused the concerned person to notify the police.


Arriving in Barangay Samonte to verify the information, responding personnel saw the said strange man carrying a travelling bag. For no reason, the suspect run away upon noticing the police patrol car which prompted the authorities to chase him.


David was cornered near the Q-Zone General Merchandise at the same barangay wherein the police caught a glimpse of a suspected contraband in his bag when he was about to bring out his ID.

The police searched the bag where they found 10 bricks of suspected marijuana. The contraband was estimated to be P1,128,000.


Police Regional Office 2 revealed that the suspect was a member of the Philippine National Police in Manila but was dismissed from service.


David was brought to the Quezon Municipal Police Station and will be facing a violation of Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
