Tabuk City, Kalinga – This year’s ‘Diddiga’ performers across the province delivered a massive and moving grand finale performance that spoke volumes of the unity of the iKalingas during the culmination of the activity.

Said event showcased the various traditional dances of the iKalingas, gathering all municipalities and the city of the province to present the practices which define part of the culture of the communities in Kalinga.

Diddiga is one of the highlights of the 6th Bodong Festival and 30th Kalinga Founding Anniversary celebration conducted on February 12, 2025 at the Kalinga Astrodome. It is a performance done with colorful indigenous attires, traditional dances, musical instruments, soulful chants, and celebratory rituals.

The presentation of the variety of performances depicted the varied and rich cultural heritage of the province.

While indigenous practices and talents have been emphasized in the event, the heart of the Diddiga happened at the finale wherein all the performers representing their respective heritage danced together and beat the gong to produce a unified sound.

It did not end there as the people, backed by the singing of the United Voices of Kalinga Singers, danced further with their smiles, giggles and laughter, sending a message of unity among the iKalingas.

The Diddiga Committee 2025 led by Kalinga Tourism Officer Lorraine Ngao-i conveyed their appreciation to the United Voices of Kalinga Singers for the musical prelude and to Maria Cirila Bawer, the Diddiga choreographer for her creativity and dedication. They also thanked the committee members, performers, focal persons, and the different local chief executives in Kalinga for their unwavering support and commitment in the event.
