Drinking spree turns into nightmare: 54-yr.-old farmer in Isabela attacked, now in critical condition

Cauayan City, Isabela - A drinking session turned into a nightmare for a farmer in Cauayan City, Isabela, as he is now in a critical condition after being hit in the head with a bamboo by his drinking buddy.

The incident happened on Friday, March 8, 2024 in Barangay Villaflor, Cauayan City.

According to a local media report, the victim identified as alias “Bobot", 54, had a drinking spree with his fellow farmer that day.

As relayed by a witness hidden by the name “Badong”, the two allegedly had an altercation while drinking.

Minutes later, the suspect, whose identity is withheld, grabbed a bamboo near him and used it to hit Bobot’s head. The victim sustained severe head injuries due to the attack.

The incident was later reported by Bobot’s sibling to the authorities, who immediately proceeded to the location.

Upon arrival, the suspect was immediately apprehended by police, while the victim was rushed to a hospital by the responding medical team. He is currently in a critical status.

The suspect, meanwhile, is taken in the custody of Cauayan City Police Station for further investigation and will be facing a frustrated murder case.
