‘Drive thru Vaccination’ set up in Baguio City

Updated: Sep 17, 2021

Baguio City, Philippines – Baguio City continued to implement the ‘drive-thru vaccination’ scheme at the Baguio Athletic Bowl on Wednesday, September 15, to inoculate individuals who were part of the prioritized group, a health official said.

Drivers and owners of public utility vehicles are part of the A4 group identified by the government.

City Health Services Office Medical Officer IV Dr. Dandeo Halog, in a press statement through Mountain Province Broadcasting Corporation, said the scheme is part of their efforts to increase their record of vaccinated targeted public and private motorists and owners.

Added to this, Halog said the activity is also one measure to protect the public as Covid-19 cases in the city continue to spike.

The city as of Tuesday, September 14, 2021, has already recorded a total of 20, 227 Covid-19 cases, of which 2,412 are active cases.

As shared by Halog, during the “drive-thru vaccination” held on September 13, they were able to vaccinate 633 individuals from the A1 to A5 priority groups.

In an update, MPBC said there is a possibility that the drive-thru vaccination will still continue for the said sector as most of them have yet to receive their vaccine. This is to protect them and their families against the Covid-19 virus, especially from the more transmissible Delta variant.

Data of the city as of September 13 showed that 275,096 already got their jab, of which 108,958 have already completed their doses while 166,679 individuals were only able to get their first dose.
