Driver dies while fishing in Ifugao

Ifugao, Philippines – It was supposed to be just a day of fishing in the pond for a 35-year-old man from Hingyon when his condition caused him to get drowned.

The man identified by the Hingyon Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office to be Jay-ar Napudo Botal, 35, a resident of Nun-olpad, Namulditan was discovered floating on the water on Wednesday morning, June 28.

His body was found by the pond owner who came to feed the pigs in the area.

The victim was confirmed dead by the authorities who responded to the place of the incident.

Initial investigation by the police revealed that Botal has low potassium and he easily passes out. For this reason, it is believed that the man suddenly lost consciousness while fishing on the pond, resulting in his drowning.

His body was brought home to his family in Nun-olpad for his wake.
