Tabuk City, Kalinga – A police chase was carried out from Lubuagan to Tabuk after a driver drove through the checkpoint in Dinakan, Dangoy on Thursday morning, February 23.

The unidentified man who was driving an Innova aroused suspicion when he suddenly sped off instead of slowing down and stopping his car when it passed through the checkpoint in Dinakan.

This led the authorities manning the checkpoint to go after him, Kalinga Police Information Officer, PCapt. Ruff Manganip told GURU Press Cordillera.

The operatives in Tabuk were alerted about the fleeing vehicle. However, the man didn’t stop at the checkpoint established in Calanan and in Block 3, leading the police to New Balbalan in Lacnog.

With the police after him, the driver left the car in the said area and ran away on foot.

The police later discovered from the abandoned vehicle 241 pieces of suspected marijuana bricks and 1 tubular. This has an estimated worth of P29,040,000.

The suspect is now being searched by the operatives.
