Drug personality arrested in a police chase and armed encounter in Tabuk

Tabuk City, Kalinga – A man with a standing warrant of arrest for illegal drugs was wounded after a police chase and armed encounter in Bulanao this September 7, 2021.


According to the police, the operatives in Kalinga received information that a gray Toyota Fortuner from Metro Manila was already in Tabuk City to fetch Victor Guimba to get marijuana.


Since Guimba has a standing warrant for violation of Republic Act 9165, an operation ensued to serve his arrest warrant.


When the subject vehicle was spotted in Bakras, Bulanao, the police went to check the occupants of the car. Upon confirmation that it was Guimba, the operatives served his warrant of arrest.

However, they weren’t able to arrest him as the suspect pulled his gun and point it at the police. After which, he sped off towards Mapaoay, Ipil, which resulted in a chase and exchange of bullets after Guimba fired at the police along the national road.


The suspect wasn’t able to get away when the rear tire of his vehicle was shot, resulting in the Fortuner to plunged into the rice field at the side of the road.


When the police went to check on him, they discovered that the suspect sustained a gunshot wound. This is why they immediately rushed him to Kalinga Provincial Hospital.


Meantime, the wounded suspect is listed as Regional Top Ten Drug Personality.

Illegal drugs, firearms, and explosives discovered


During the operation, the police discovered 10 pieces of dried marijuana bricks amounting to P1,200,000; a unit of Cal 9mm Smith and Wesson with 4 live ammunition; 2 hand grenades; P13,750 cash; cellphone; a bag with documents; and a Fortuner.


Additionally, the 18-year-old man who was with Guimba inside the car was arrested.
