Drug runner abandons P1.3M Marijuana in Pasil, Kalinga to escape police

Pasil, Kalinga – Police are now pursuing another marijuana runner who was able to escape authorities on Thursday, July 18.


The yet to be identified drug runner disregarded a checkpoint set up by police along the municipal road in Pasil, resulting in the chase. He was on board of a black motorcycle.


During the chase, he abandoned his vehicle along with a bag where he put the dried marijuana at the roadside particularly at Sitio Amdalao, Guina-ang, Pasil. He successfully evaded police by leaving his vehicle and the contraband.


Upon checking the items, police found 11 bricks of suspected dried marijuana bricks weighing about 11 kilograms and has a market value of P1, 320,000.


Other items found at the roadside were an Optiorime white sack, a black XRM 125, a blue raincoat, and a yellow plastic container with gasoline.


The seized pieces of evidence were brought to the Pasil Municipal Police Station and was later forwarded to the Kalinga Provincial Forensic Unit for proper disposition.


To recall, a marijuana runner was also able to escape police during a chase on July 1.


The suspect likewise decided to leave his motorcycle and dried marijuana leaves on the road at Sitio Pokcha, Cagaluan, Pasil.


The contraband he left weighed 10,000 grams with a market value of P1,200,000.
