Drunk man drowned in Tabuk City on Easter Sunday

Tabuk City, Kalinga ̶ A 61-year-old man, allegedly intoxicated, drowned in the Chico River in Barangay Calanan on Easter Sunday, April 4.

According to police report, the victim with his companion went to the said river at around 2 o’clock in the afternoon to have a bath after having drunk intoxicating beverages.

His companion told the police that the victim went to the deep portion of the river, unfortunately, he was not able to swim back to the shallow part of the river.

Struggling against the current, the man was still able to yell and ask for help, and the alarmed companion rushed to take him out of the water. After the man was retrieved, they tried to revive him and was later rushed to Kalinga Provincial Hospital.

However, he was declared dead on arrival by the attending physician.
