Dupligan, Tanudan gets free medical consultation, reading glasses

Updated: Aug 24

Tanudan, Kalinga - The community in Dupligan enjoyed free medical consultation and got free reading glasses on August 15, 2024 – an occasion needed by residents there, especially those of the less fortunate.

Although the center of the barangay is 24 kilometers from Tabuk City, where most medical services are available, some villages in Barangay Dupligan have to be accessed on foot, and people with medical conditions may need to be carried to medical facilities.

The event which aimed to bring medical services closer to the people in far-flung areas was attended by individuals of all ages in Dupligan. Apart from the reading glasses and consultation, the male kids got themselves free circumcision.

Municipal Health Officer Dr. Sandra Valledor relayed that 204 people had their check-ups; 23 were subjected to circumcision; and 109 received free reading glasses.

Valledor added there is no scheduled medical mission in the coming days yet, but they already requested for Gaang, one of the far-flung areas in Tanudan, to be the next beneficiary of the activity.

With the free consultation and reading glasses provided by the medical mission conducted by the Seventh Day Adventist and the Tanudan Municipal Local Government Unit through the Municipal Health Office in Pagugo, Dupligan, residents were very grateful.

The Tanudan Local Government Unit conveyed their appreciation to their partner in the mission, the Seventh Day Adventist, for extending their resources, time, effort, and expertise to the people of Dupligan.
