75-yr.-old man in Cagayan arrested for molesting grandchild

Allacapan, Cagayan – A 75-year-old man was arrested by police after allegedly molesting his own grandchild in Kapanickian Norte, Allacapan, on Thursday, Sept. 21.

The suspect, considered the top three most wanted in Cagayan, was nabbed by virtue of a warrant arrest issued by Regional Trial Court Branch 33 Judge Marvin Aniceto.

The suspect named ‘Alyas Emmanuel’ faces rape charges in relation to Republic Act 7610, or the Child Abuse Law.

Accordingly, his victim was his own 3-year-old grandchild, while the incident transpired on March 24, 2023.

The victim’s mother disclosed she was cooking at that time while the suspect was taking care of her child at the house's terrace.

When the mother went to check on them, it was then she saw the suspect with his private part out of his pants, an indication to the crime.

She then immediately reported the incident to authorities and filed charges against the suspect.

Following his arrest, the suspect, Emanuel, was taken to the Allacapan Police Station for documentation before his turn over to the proper court.

“Ang pagkakadakip nito ay resulta ng pagtutulungan ng pinagsanib na tauhan ng Allacapan Police Station sa pangunguna ng kanilang Hepe; 203rd Maneuver Company, Regional Mobile Force Battalion 2; at 3rd Mobile Force Platoon, 2nd Cagayan Provincial Mobile Force Company,” Cagayan police said in their press release.
