Elderly killed in structural fire in Baguio City; cause of blaze still being investigated

Baguio City, Philippines— A structural fire broke out in Gaerlan Street, Campo Filipino Barangay, Baguio City, early Tuesday, August 27.

Said fire alarmed the residents in the area as blazes engulfed a house at their residence around 5:00 a.m.

Upon notification, members of the Bureau of Fire Protection - Baguio proceeded to the location to put out the fire with their fire truck. The firefighters declared fire out at 8:12 a.m.

Meanwhile, the Scene of the Crime Operatives (SOCO) reported that there was one casualty in the incident.

The identity of the victim was not yet determined, but there was a 61-year-old man in the area who went missing during the fire, according to the report.

Investigators are still working to determine what started the blaze.
