Ex-Cafgu who raped 5-yr.-old girl arrested in Bauko, Mt. Province

Mt. Province, Philippines – A former member of the Citizens Armed Forces Geographical Unit (CAFGU) of the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) was arrested today, June 11, for raping a 5-year-old girl.

Bauko Municipal Police Station reported the incident happened back on November 13, 2022.

The 55-year-old suspect was drunk at that time when he invited the victim inside his house and sexually abused her.

The accused, whose identity was withheld by the police, is married and a resident of Bagnen Oriente, Bauko, Mt. Province

On June 02, the presiding judge of Regional Trial Court, First Judicial Region, Branch 12 - Family Court in Bontoc issued warrant of arrest for rape with no recommended bail, sexual assault with P200,000 bail, and acts of lasciviousness with P150,000 recommended bail.

The arrest warrant was served by authorities at suspect’s residence.

He was then brought to Bauko MPS for documentation and proper disposition. He will be turned over to the concerned court after.

The wanted was arrested through the joint efforts of Bauko MPS, Provincial Intelligence Unit/Provincial Drug Enforcement Unit, and 1st Provincial Mobile Force Companies as the lead units.

The operation was also joined by Provincial Investigation and Detection Management Unit, Regional Mobile Force Battalion 1502nd, Criminal Investigation and Detection Group – Mt. Province, Regional Intelligence Division, Regional Intelligence Unit – 14, and Highway Patrol Group in the province.
