Ex-con from Pinukpuk arrested for illegal drugs and firearm

Pinukpuk, Kalinga – A man who was previously convicted of drug violation was again brought to police custody for the same offense and for possession of an illegal firearm.

The accused, Clemente Dumalegan, 43, was tagged by the Kalinga police as a High Value Individual drug personality.

He was arrested after operatives proceeded to his residence in Taggay, Pinukpuk to implement a search warrant around 5:00 a.m. on June 07, 2023, the Kalinga Police Provincial Office reported.

Authorities were able to discover nine sachets containing a substance suspected to be shabu with a value estimated to be P40,800. Five sachets containing residue of the same contraband were also seized.

The police also recovered a piece of Armscor Cal 45; a magazine with eight live ammunition for Cal 45; 6 pieces of live ammunition for Cal 45; and a piece of M14 magazine containing one 7.62mm live ammunition.

Other pieces of evidence seized by the operatives from the suspect’s house include drug paraphernalia and P311,250 money taken from different pouches.

The accused will be facing charges for violation of Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002 and RA 10591 or the Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Act.
