Ex-OFW shot dead while attending wake in Isabela

San Isidro, Isabela – A 36-year-old man was killed after he was shot while attending a wake in Camarag, San Isidro, on Wednesday, Oct. 04, 2023.

Police were called to the scene at 3 a.m. on said date for a report of a shooting incident in the area.

There, they found the victim, identified as Jefferson Tumamao, a former overseas Filipino worker, lying on the ground and bathing in his own blood.

A witness disclosed that while the victim was playing mahjong, a yet-to-be identified suspect sat beside him and shot him on the back.

After committing the crime, the suspect quickly fled the scene using a motorcycle. Police disclosed the motorcycle was parked in an unlit area near the crime scene.

At the crime scene, several caliber 45 cartridges that were used in the killing were recovered by authorities.

CCTV cameras near the area where the suspect might have passed while fleeing are now being checked by police for the possible identification of the suspect.

In the meantime, the public is urged by police to notify them of any information regarding the suspect that might help in the probe and his immediate arrest.
