Baguio City, Philippines – Even after spending his jail term time twice, a 39-year-old former leader of a robbery group in Baguio City once again fell into the hands of the police.

The recidivist hidden under the name ‘Mulong’ was arrested on June 10 in Pinsao Proper, Baguio City.

He is to answer charges for violation of Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002, Republic Act 10591 or Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Regulation Act, and violation of the Revised Penal Code or Resistance and Disobedience to a Person in Authority or the Agents of such Person.

These cases were filed against him after evading a police checkpoint in March this year and leaving a bag containing a brick of suspected marijuana and firearms.

As cited by local media, this is not the first time the suspect was charged and jailed.

In 2015, he served his sentence for violation of Republic Act 10591 or Illegal Possession of Firearms in relation to COMELEC Gun Ban. Then just as when he was released from prison seven years later, Mulong was arrested again for Robbery with Force Upon Things.

Mulong who was listed top most wanted in Baguio City and Top 10 in Police Regional Office Cordillera drug list was tagged as the leader of the Maraya Robbery Criminal Group from 2008 – 2015. The organization was said to be operating in Baguio City and La Trinidad, Benguet and they would barge into houses at daytime when occupants were out.

The suspect is now at the Baguio City Jail Male Dormitory while he answers his cases without bail recommended for his temporary freedom.
