Isabela, Philippines – Another cadaver of New People’s Army (NPA) rebel exhumed by the government troops in Maconacon, Isabela will get a decent burial.

In July last year, former rebels pinpointed the graves of eight NPAs to the 502nd Infantry Brigade. Five of the eight, accordingly, were executed by their comrades over leadership, while three were said to have died of starvation and were buried “indecently” in Barangay Canadam of said town.

They were identified by the army as Willy Baltazar alias “Brad” from San Guillermo, Isabela; Junjun alias “Bambo” from San Mariano, Isabela; Raffy Valencia alias “Rigid” from Amulung, Cagayan; Jestoni Peregrido alias “Marco” from Gubat, Sorsogon; Angelo Miguel Del Rosario alias “Bryan” from Bacoor, Cavite; Mario Agustin alias “Eloy”; alias “Dondon,” a vice squad leader of Squad Uno; and alias “Monmon,” a member of the same group.

Recently, the body identified by authorities as that of “Ka Shuli” were exhumed at the area. He is believed to have died also of starvation.

From the village, the cadaver was carried down to town proper by the personnel of 95th Infantry Battalion and 86th Infantry Battalion of 502nd IB and 201st Maneuver Company of Regional Mobile Force Battalion 2.

The body of “Ka Shuli” was cremated and will be transported to his family in Villaverde, Nueva Vizcaya for proper burial.

The army is once again calling the attention of the remaining rebels to return to the government folds and enjoy time with family rather than wasting their life fighting for senseless armed struggle.
