Experience Mt. Province’s Lang-ay fest in CAR’s Festival of Festivals


Mt. Province, Philippines – The Lang-ay Festival of Mt. Province will be staged in the first Cordillera Festival of Festivals Show in Baguio City this October 15, announced the local tourism of the province.


The Lang-ay fest, as narrated by Mt. Province Provincial Tourism Office, began during the celebration of the province’s 38th founding anniversary.


Lang-ay is a native Bontoc dialect which means to share the happiness and wisdom, to promote family solidarity, hospitality, peace, and to nurture friendship with the partaking of native rice wine.

Celebrated every April of each year, the event highlights the culture and traditions of the10 towns of said province- Bontoc, Barlig, Bauko, Besao, Natonin, Paracelis, Sabangan, Sadanga, Sagada, and Tadian.


“It is generally being attended by community members from all walks of life, clad in their respective best indigenous attires - “wanes” with matching head gears and other accompanying apparel for men and “tapis” or woven costumes and bead accessories for women,” described the local tourism office.


Said festivity also intends to deepen understanding and appreciation of the province’s heritage and evolving culture.


The tourism office invites the public to witness the festival in the Cordillera Festival of Festivals Show initiated by the regional tourism department.


Chosen participants will take part in the parade along Session Road at 8 AM. The event proper will be held at the Malcolm Square.
