Experience Tanudan’s ‘Silent Mountain’ with Lumin-awa Trekking Adventure

Tanudan, Kalinga – Have you ever visited Tanudan’s renowned ‘Silent Mountain’? Don’t miss the chance to immerse yourself in the serenity and beauty of this place through the Lumin-awa Trekking Adventure.

This adventure forms part of the celebrations for the 5th Kalinga Bodong Festival and the 29th Kalinga Founding Anniversary in February 2024.

Following last year's exploration of Pasil and Tinglayan, this year's adventure unfolds in the Municipality of Tanudan from February 7 to 10, 2024.

One of the highlights of the itinerary includes a day at Mt. Binaratan, towering more than 1,800 meters above sea level and home to endangered species like deer, wild pigs, monkeys, and various bird species.

Mt. Binaratan is renowned as the ‘Silent Mountain’ due to its ability to hush the sounds of wildlife and even the rustle of the breeze in the forest.

Itinerary

On the first day, February 7, trekkers will gather at the Provincial Capitol at 6:00 a.m. and proceed to Taloctoc, Tanudan. The hike will commence from Taloctoc, passing through Anggacan, Matacad Falls, Banagao, and concluding with dinner in Barangay Lubo.

The following day, the itinerary includes a trek from Lubo to Ga-ang, Matabor Falls, and Dacalan.

On the third day, trekkers will ascend Mt. Binaratan, setting up camp atop the mountain. The final day involves descending from the mountain and continuing the trek to Lubo, culminating with lunch.

At 3:00 p.m. on February 10, participants will return to Tabuk City.
