Family in Sta.Marcela, Apayao awarded 3rd place as 4Ps Huwarang Pamilya 2023 in Cordillera

Sta. Marcela, Apayao - A family in Malekkeg, Sta. Marcela was awarded third place during the Regional Search for Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program (4Ps) Huwarang Pamilya 2023 held in Baguio City on August 03.

The 4Ps Huwarang Pamilya is a search being held to recognize families and children who constantly abide by the 4Ps policies and guidelines, who sustain a harmonious relationship inside the family, who display positive Filipino values, and who selflessly participate in community programs.

Years of being a recipient of 4Ps program, the Briones family remained an exemplar and worthy of emulation in the community they live in.

A Christian family and a model of faith in the community, the Briones family serves as a testament to strong family ties amidst life challenges. The patriarch, Saldy, and his wife raised their 3 children to be talented and god-fearing individuals who are committed to demonstrating godly influence to their fellow youth.

In previous years, the family has also been participating in painting contests at the municipal level. The siblings Cromwell and Rachelle, likewise, collected citations in visual and performing arts - Cromwell second in provincial-wide poster making while Rachel won in songwriting, both at the provincial and regional level.

"These achievements received by the family members, transpired 2 years ago," conveyed Project Development Officer Jovy D. Agor.

Prior to the regional awarding of the 4Ps Huwarang Pamilya, said family underwent a series of validation and deliberation from the municipal and provincial level of which the family was hailed as the grand winner in Apayao.

"In the implementation of 4Ps, our beneficiaries who are also our partners, are worthy of recognition. The search was not meant for them to compete against others, but to provide them an opportunity to express their experiences, which definitely influence even the non-4Ps," emphasized DWSD-CAR Regional Director Leo L. Quintilla.

The family was given a plaque of recognition and a cash incentive.
