Updated: Nov 26, 2022

Tabuk City, Kalinga – The family of two adolescents seriously injured following the motorcycle and kulong-kulong collision on Sunday in Tabuk City is asking the public for help to aid the siblings in their recovery.

Lander John Balurin, 12, and Norvelyn Balurin, 14, are among the seven injured by the vehicular accident along the Provincial Road in Barangay Appas on July 3, 2022.

One of the siblings remains unconscious, while the other is awaiting surgery.

According to Norlyn Balurin (the elder sister), Lander and Norvelyn are currently admitted to a private hospital in Tabuk City.

Procedures to be done

Norlyn told Guru Press that Lander is still unconscious. There was a moment he was seen crying, but he is yet to open his eyes. She added that her brother has not eaten anything yet and was intubated today, July 5.

“Ni Lander normal CT scan na, awan met dara nga napan idiay brain na ken awan fracture na. Gapu pigsa pannaka ibaltug da nabugbug ti ulo na. As of now, haan pay nagmulagat, nangan ken nagsasao,” she explained.

Lander will be transferred to a hospital in Cagayan this week for further medication.

Norvelyn, on the other hand, had a broken leg. She said they need around P60,000 for the plate and screw, which is to be placed in the fractured leg.

Family pleads help

With the procedures and treatment needed to be done for Lander and Norvelyn, their parents admitted they could hardly find money to shoulder medical expenses.

The father is a member of the Citizen Armed Force Geographical Unit (CAFGU), while their mom is a farmer.

Due to limited resources, Lander and Norvelyn’s family is pleading for any amount that could help them pay the bills and medicines.

To help the siblings, you can send any amount to Aira Gannaban’s GCash; 09260867108 or you can send to Norlyn Balurin through Palawan Express with the account number, 09652663783.
