Baguio City, Philippines – The family of the 20-year-old man who got knocked unconscious in a brawl in Upper General Luna Road, Baguio City will file a complaint against the bouncer who tried to pacify the two warring groups.

It was around 2 a.m. on Monday, Nov. 06, when two groups had a heated argument inside the restobar. When the groups went out, they engaged in a physical fight.

As seen in a video uploaded on social media, the bouncer of the same restobar appeared to supposedly stop the fight but the two groups persisted. The bouncer then carried and hurled the 20-year-old man. The victim lost consciousness after hitting the pavement.

He was ferried to the hospital and was brought home following a medical check-up.

Baguio police said the suspect has been identified and an investigation is underway.

In 2021, the city’s “Street Gang Deterrence Ordinance” authored by Councilors Levy Lloyd Orcales and Betty Lourdes Tabanda was approved, penalizing the establishment or organization of street gangs and recruitment or inducing minors to join any street gangs and violent gang wars.

According to the Orcales, they are only waiting for its Implementing Rules and Regulations for its execution.
