Famous Asin band performs during 28th Kalinga Founding Anniversary

Tabuk City, Kalinga – Many yKalingas jammed with the famous folk rock band in the country, Asin on Thursday evening, February 16, at the Capitol Plaza Park.

Asin is the first Filipino band that used traditional instruments for their music.

Originally known as the “Salt of the “Earth”, its members started as a trio in the late 1970s before eventually becoming a quartet.

The said band was invited by the Kalinga PLGU headed by Governor James Edduba to perform during the 28th Kalinga founding Anniversary and 4th Bodong Festival.

At said event, Asin performed their hit songs entitled “Masdan mo ang Kapaligiran”, “Himig ng Pag-ibig”, “Pagbabalik” and “Balita”.

The Lumin-awa Band members composed of the personnel of Kalinga Provincial Police Office and Bureau of Jail and Management-Kalinga and the Kalinga Local Artists were likewise given the chance to perform their cover songs Asin along with Ms. Lolita Carbon.

“Thank you for making the yKalingas extra happy this 4th Bodong Festival,” the provincial local government wrote in a Facebook post, following the group’s all-out performance in the province.
