Farmer in Tuao, Cagayan arrested for sexually abusing 4-year-old girl

Cagayan, Philippines – A 37-year-old man accused of raping a 4-year-old girl in Tuao, Cagayan was arrested in Aurora, Isabela, after a hot pursuit operation on November 1, 2022.

The suspect hidden under the name of Cinto is a farmer and a resident of Barangay Dagupan, Tuao, Cagayan.

Tuao police said the incident happened around 3:30 PM of November 1 when the suspect asked the victims’ parents if he could take a rest at their hut where the 4-year-old and her brother are playing.

After few moments, the victim’s dad got curious when he saw his son running away from their hut. This prompted him to go check what happened and it was then he allegedly caught the suspect raping his daughter.

Cinto was said to have immediately run away when he saw the victim’s father.

The 4-year-old victim together with her parents then proceeded to the police station to report the incident.

A hot pursuit operation was launched against the suspect which led to his immediate arrest. Cinto was said to have tried to hide, but he was tracked by the police in Bolinao, Aurora, Isabela.

A case for violation of Republic Act 11648, an act which provide stronger protection against rape and sexual exploitation and abuse and an act increasing the age for determining statutory rape is being prepared against the suspect.
