Man accidentally shot 4-year-old son while cleaning gun

Apayao, Philippines – Calanasan Police Station reiterated their call to those in possession of unregistered firearms to surrender the same to the station for safekeeping and prevent any untoward incidents they may cause.

This is after a man in Calanasan, Apayao, was cleaning his gun on Thursday, November 17, when it accidentally went off, fatally shooting his 4-year-old son.

The victim was identified by the authorities as Cian Lee Danggan, while the suspect was Samboy Lee Danggan.

It was later known that the firearm is unregistered.

Calanasan police reported the bullet penetrated the wall, hitting the child who was at that time playing outside their house in Barangay Naguilian, Calanasan.

Meanwhile, a homicide case, in relation to Section 29 of Republic Act 10591 otherwise known as the "Comprehensive Firearms and. Ammunition Regulation Act" was filed against the suspect.
