Tabuk City, Kalinga – An estimated P500,000 worth of belongings was destroyed when a fire broke out in a residential house at Purok 5, Bulanao morning of August 26, 2021.

Bureau of Fire Protection Tabuk Fire Arson Investigator, Senior Fire Officer 1 Mark Anthony Mendoza relates that they were assisting an ongoing Brigada Eskwela activity when they received the call at around 11:19 AM.

Since the fire truck in Dagupan was the only one available, the BFP personnel had to travel for approximately 7 minutes to the place of the incident. Upon their arrival, neighbors were already helping out, passing buckets of water to extinguish the fire.

With the neighbors’ immediate action, the fire did not last long and was immediately controlled. The BFP declared a ‘fire out’ at around 12:05 PM.

Mendoza revealed that in their initial assessment, there is a possibility that the fire started from electrical wiring in the bedroom.

“Isu iti permi ngamin a nau-gingan isunga isu iti kitkitan mi nga origin ken according kadagiay first responders idiay a kaarruba da, idiay [bedroom] kanu iti umuna a nag-conduct an da iti fire suppression,” he explained, adding that this will be examined by their electrical inspectors.

Nobody was hurt during the incident. However, most of the belongings and furniture inside the house were burned.

Investigation on the incident is ongoing.
