Tabuk City, Kalinga - As fire incidents usually increase during the dry season, the Bureau of Fire Protection in Kalinga has issued an early reminder to residents to take necessary precautions to prevent fire from occurring.

In line with Fire Prevention Month this March, the BFP-Kalinga emphasized that early prevention is the key to ensuring the safety of residents, properties, and communities from the dangers of fire.

The agency urges iKalingas to remain vigilant and proactive in addressing potential fire risks.

Some of the necessary measures one should take against fire, according to the agency, include checking electrical systems and avoiding improper use of appliances as these are common causes of fire incidents not just in the province but in other places as well.

“Regular na inspeksyunin ang mga electrical system, appliances, at wiring upang matukoy ang mga possibleng panganib,” the agency wrote on its Facebook page.

By conducting such precautionary measures, the residents can safeguard not only their belongings but also the lives of their families, ensuring a safer living environment for everyone.

To recall, fire incidents in Kalinga nearly doubled last year, leaving multi-million damages based on the provincial BFP office data.

The data revealed that 73 fire incidents in the province were recorded in 2024, a 55 percent increase compared to 47 cases documented in 2023.
