First gun ban violator arrested in Cagayan

Tuao, Cagayan - Authorities in Tuao, Cagayan have caught the first man violating the gun ban in relation to the upcoming Barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan (BSKE) elections on October 30, 2023.


The suspect was identified as alias “Raul”, 43, a resident of said area.

During a buy-bust operation conducted by police on Wednesday, August 30, a pistol containing a 12-gauge bullet was confiscated from Raul.

Aside from said firearm, six sachets of suspected shabu worth P910.00 and sachets of suspected Marijuana leaves with a market value of P2,400 were also confiscated from him.


The suspect and the seized pieces of evidence are now in Tuao Police custody.


He will be facing multiple cases such as the violation of RA 9165 otherwise known as the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002, RA 10591 or the Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Regulation Act and BP 881 or Omnibus Election Code.
