Tabuk City, Kalinga – While Mr. Justine Capito from Tabuk City, epitomizing wit, talent, and charisma, made history as the first-ever Mr. Kalinga titleholder during the inaugural search for Mr. Kalinga, his counterpart Audrey Magallis, who embodies grace, intellect, and charm, was also crowned Ms. Kalinga 2024.

The two, who are representing Tabuk City won the hearts of the audience and judges by delivering answers with eloquence, wit, and composure during the question and answer portion of Kalinga’s biggest pageant finals held on Tuesday, February 13.

Capito was asked about his perspective on cosmetic surgery and how to promote authenticity and self-acceptance while navigating societal pressures regarding physical appearance.

He answered confidently, stating, “Cosmetic surgery emerged due to the societal beauty standards imposed upon us. However, I believe maintaining authenticity means recognizing that we are more than society's labels. We are all beautiful and handsome in our unique ways. Just be yourself, and that authenticity is what society truly seeks. By embracing yourself, you radiate beauty and handsomeness.”

Regarding the significance of Pagta in the lives of yKalingas, Magallis, the Miss Tabuk City 2023 title holder, emphasized its importance, stating, “Pagta holds immense significance in the lives of all yKalingas as it embodies the roots of our governance. We are all part of the Bodong, and Pagta contains the rules we must abide by. Its recent amendment is crucial as it reflects the changing times we live in. By adhering to Pagta, we empower our culture and enrich our heritage.”

Both received P50,000 each, along with sashes, crowns, and other prizes from sponsors.
