First 'Rambak ni Mannalon' kicks off in Luna, Apayao

Updated: Aug 1, 2023

Luna, Apayao – What is a better way to acknowledge farmers' contribution to society other than to hold a festival for them?

On July 31, the Municipality of Luna officially launched its first-ever ‘Rambak ni Mannalon’ at the BGVJr Memorial Sports Center in Poblacion.

Highlighting the kickoff program was the parade of floats adorned with crops and other raw materials found in the community. There was also the opening of the agro-tourism trade fair that showcases the products of the people of Luna.

During the opening program, Mayor Josephine Bangsil emphasized gratefulness for the many things farmers and residents can boast of and still enjoy in said town, reminding the people of resilience amidst their experience with Super Typhoon Egay which brought havoc and devastation to their crops.

She lauded the work and existence of farmers, saying they are the top contributors to the socioeconomic progress of Luna.

“Intayo ag-fiesta, rambakan tayo iti makuna a ‘rambak ni mannalon ‘ tapnu iti kasta ket ikkan tayo pay iti ad-adu nga importansiya dagiay kakabsat tayo a mannalon, kakalugaran tayo a mannalon nga isuda iti nang-nangruna nga mangted kontribusyon iti panagdur-asan iti socioeconomic development iti ili tayo a Luna,” she stressed.

Meantime, completing the first day of the celebration is the pre-pageant of the Search for ‘Libnos ti Luna’ 2023 and the creative folk dance competition.

The ‘Rambak ni Mannalon’ will run until August 02, 2023.
