Around 7:00 in the evening on Saturday, a portion of a mountain eroded due to heavy rains with the debris going directly to the Gappu Creek which resulted into flooding.

This caused the creek to overflow, flooding some areas.

Alunday added that some paddy fields were also destroyed, while others were partially damaged. Some livestock were likewise reportedly swept by the water.

The initial damages are estimated to be at P17,165,000.

Among the immediate plan of the Local Government Unit of Tanudan headed by Mayor Jaedicke Rhoss Dagadag is to prioritize the repair of the water source in the three barangays.

A resolution will be submitted to the Office of the Sanguniang Bayan of Tanudan headed by Vice Mayor Santos Dalayap to declare Lubo under a state of calamity in the coming days.
