Flora LGU’s TECH4ED Center bags awards from DICT-CAR

Flora, Apayao- The TECH4ED center in Flora, on Nov. 29 was awarded with the 2nd runner-up and Sustainability awards from the Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT) during the TECH4ED-DTC awarding ceremony held at the Plaza Lodge Hotel, in Baguio City.


Said recognition stemmed from Mayor Rodolfo B. Juan’s partnership with the DICT centered on advancing digital literacy, providing an upgraded and seamless ICT services among the people.


The prestigious awards were conferred to recognize its invaluable contribution in bridging the digital divide in the municipality, providing ICT enabled services and ICT skills development opportunities for the socio-economic development of communities especially those that are underserved and unserved.  


The TECH4ED center under EnP Engr. Jean A. Agustin was established to set up community centers where out-of-school youth, senior citizens, housewives, and other underserved sectors of society can have access to online government services and learning modules for skills development, digital literacy, and non-formal education.


As part of the awards, plaques of recognition were handed over. Additionally, the LGU Tech4Ed center received Starlink kits with one-year free internet subscription, and other ICT supplies.


Mayor Juan, together with Vice Mayor Jeofrey Blas pledged to sustain support for ICT initiatives and projects across the town.
