Former contender of It’s Showtime ‘Tawag ng Tanghalan’ from Conner, Apayao now a VIVA artist

Tabuk City, Kalinga – A Cordilleran who started his ‘artista journey’ as a contender on the It’s Showtime Tawag ng Tanghalan’s stage is now officially part of the growing roster of talents of the Viva Artist Agency.

Sandex Nunag, now known as Sandex Gavin, inked a contract with Viva Artists Agency earlier this month.

“I am Sandex Bayaua Nunag, a proud yApayao and a Cordilleran, officially [part of] the Viva Artists Agency na!,” he announced on a Facebook post on Thursday, August 21.

Before becoming what he is now, Sandex revealed in an interview that his first exposure to the limelight was when he became a contender at It’s Showtime segment dubbed "Your all-time favorite search for outstanding amateur talents”.

Sandex also competed on GMA Network’s TictoClock variety show.

After said competitions, he later joined a Baguio-based talent agency that manages and guides aspiring Cordilleran talents.

During his stay in the summer capital, he disclosed he was called by a talent coordinator of the Viva Artist Agency.

“Tumawag if pwede ako mag visit sa office niya sa Manila e sa Baguio ako nakareside that time,” he recalled, but admitted he was hesitant at first since the communication was only made via a phone call.

“Siyempre natatakot ako baka scammer or nantritrip lang pero naging okay naman usapan,” he conveyed.

At present, projects that are lined up for the Cordilleran rising star are mall shows and campus tours as he is still under training and workshop as an artist.

Aside from being a singer, Sandex will also be working soon as a songwriter and at the same time as an actor.

“Hopefully in the near future, makapag teleserye o pelikula po,” he added.
