Lagawe, Ifugao – Before he bids goodbye to the police service in October this year, Police Colonel Davy Vicente Limmong gets to serve his home province Ifugao.

PCol. Limmong was a former Kalinga Police Provincial Director(PD). He stayed in the province from May 2020 to January 2022. Now, before he closes his almost 33 years as a police officer, Limmong was assigned as the new PD of Ifugao on January 30, 2023.

This is the second time Limmong was deployed to his home province. The first one was in 2010, back then he was the Deputy Provincial Director for Operations.

The new Ifugao PD who came from Banaue feels elated that before he retires, he got back to the province he was born and grew up in.

“It’s a privilege, a big opportunity, and a blessing to serve your own province… at the last portion of your career, you have the opportunity to serve your home province, it feels fulfilling,” he conveyed.

Plans

As the new Ifugao Police Provincial Director, Limmong aims to sustain peace and order in the province through enhanced patrolling and enhanced managing police operations where they put emphasis on a pro-active approach.

He likewise wants to work on reducing vehicular traffic incidents and work on addressing insurgency in Ifugao so the people can move freely and more progress will come.

Moreover, together with the Local Government Unit, other government agencies, and stakeholders, the Ifugao Police Provincial Office under Limmong’s leadership targets to bring the state’s services to the people in the far-flung areas.

Focusing on the job

Being born and raised in Ifugao, Limmong expressed it is his advantage since he knows the people’s behavior and culture.

“My intention is to give my best, and I offer my services the best I can to our people,” he said.

He might be more familiar and comfortable in Ifugao, Limmong stressed his focus is still on his duties and responsibilities as the top police in the province.
