Foul play suspected in death of elderly man in Isabela

Isabela, Philippines – Police and some relatives believe foul play was involved in the death of a 65-year-old man whose body was found dead by his son Monday morning, July 03, in Fugu village, Jones, Isabela.


Diosdado Buenafe’s son happened to visit him in his house and saw him lying in his hammock. When he approached his father, he was shocked to see him with multiple stab wounds and no longer breathing.

Some claimed that Buenafe died by suicide but his family members refused to believe the speculation as they do not see any reason why he would take his own life.


The victim sustained 31 stab wounds, according to police.


Investigator of Jones Police Station, PCpl. Cristenson Licyayo in his interview with local media said they are determining the exact day when the incident happened and the last person whom the victim was with.
