4 yKalingas set to serve as military pilots


Tabuk City, Kalinga – Four yKalinga soldiers are now ready to serve the country as military pilots following their graduation at Fernando Air Base in Lipa City, Batangas on March 27.


The Armed Forces of the Philippines Air Education, Training and Doctrine Command announced on Monday that Military Pilot Training “Wings of Tenacity” Class of 2023-A finished their pilot training and education.

Said class is composed of 60 soldiers, 9 females and 51 males. They started training at the Philippine Air Force Flying School in March 2021.


Four of the 60 are from the Province of Kalinga. They are 1LT Clayde Thor Agnaya of Tabuk City; 2LT Jepeson Dappay of Tinglayan; 2LT Emerson Bangguiyac and 2LT Gimalyn Golwingon of Tanudan.


Other new military pilots who came from Cordillera include 1LT Jainythe Layong of Sabangan, Mt. Province; 1LT Jovin Cline Dicang, La Trinidad; 2LT Edmar Rumilan, Itogon; and 2LT Jeb Bay-an of Kabayan, Benguet.


The graduation ceremony of these 60 military men and women concluded with the pass-in-review of the parading troops and the flyby of the air assets of the Air Education Training and Doctrine Command.
