Fourth recreational fishing competition at Burnham Lake set April 1

Baguio City, Philippines – Anglers may now have the chance to discover again what fish resides at Burnham Lake with the fourth recreational fishing competition on April 1.


So far, among the fish angled at the said lake include a giant catfish measuring 33 inches and weighing 4 kilograms. There was also a pacu, a cousin of piranha discovered at the lake in December last year.


The pacu fish is rumored to be biting male private parts in other countries.

Registration for the fourth recreational fishing competition runs until 3:00 p.m. on April 1 at Malcolm Square, the Baguio City Public Information Office reported.

The event is open to everyone, with or without a fishing license. The registration fee is P500.


Winners of this recreational fishing competition will receive cash prizes and trophies. The first place will get P5,000; P3,000 for the second; and P2,000 for the third place.


Organizers of the event assured that the activity will be exciting and fun for participants of all ages.
