P500M fund for solar-powered street lights, road projects in Aguinaldo, Ifugao sought


Aguinaldo, Ifugao – Pushing for tranquility and development in town, the municipal government of Aguinaldo, under the administration of Mayor Gaspar Chilagan Jr., is seeking fund for the installation of solar street lights and road projects.


Dedicated in accelerating economic growth, public safety and infrastructure has been among the top priority of Chilagan and his constituents. Through their efforts in sourcing out fund from various agencies, roads were opened and other facilities were established, boosting productivity and enhancing progress in the locality.

To further protect their people, at the same time provide essential transport infrastructure and services to agriculture sector and the community as a whole, the local council presided by Vice Mayor Roberto Lim-ang filed a resolution requesting fund allocation for their proposed projects.


Resolution No. 2023-69 was unanimously carried during the council’s regular session on May 04, respectfully asking the Secretary of the Department of Budget and Management - Amenah Pangandaman for funding of P500,000,000 worth street lights and farm-to-market roads (FMR).

Local leaders desire to install solar-powered street lights in barangays Pojnaan, Ubao, Galonogon, and Ta-ang – Jacmal with estimate cost of P50 million each, while P300 million was sought for improvement of FMRs in Saddle-Hegwang-Teor-Napoh, Majlong-Buwag, and Itab-Nattum.


The installation of street lights, said the august body, will help in the maintenance of peace and order and economic advancement.


“These projects would be of great significance in materializing the dreams and aspirations of this municipality in line with its thrust towards development and progress leading to better life for the people,” reads the resolution.
