Gov. Bulut leads awarding of 1.4M livelihood grant to Milagrosa Farmers' Association in Calanasan


Luna, Apayao-Aligned with his aspiration to elevate the living conditions of farmers in Apayao, Governor Elias C. Bulut Jr, has personally led the awarding of livelihood assistance to the Milagrosa Indigenous Farmers' Association from Eva, Calanasan on Monday, April 15.


The cheque amounting to P1,403,800 benefiting its 49 members was given to Eva barangay chairman Luis D. Bataan, before the DOLE CAR Regional Director Nathaniel V. Lacambra and Parole and Probation Administration-CAR Regional Director Belinda C. Zafra at the Ymandaya Corporation.


Funded by the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE), the TUPAD program aims to bolster economic activities and empower indigenous communities, ensuring sustainable livelihoods for local residents, primarily indigent farmers.


In an interview, DOLE Apayao explained the amount shall be used by the farmer organization in purchasing a technological farm tool or Rotavator purposely for land preparation and cultivation.


This amount is just an initial grant for said group as there will be more to be given to the farmers’ organization.


Governor Bulut in a statement said the concerted efforts are essential for attaining extensive developments and prosperity across the province.


He added that the provision of assistance signifies a unified aspiration with partner government agencies, whose ultimate aim aligns with his dream of a well-established and progressive Apayao.
