Gov. Edduba calls on officials to double efforts, aim higher in CARAA 2023

Tabuk City, Kalinga – Now that athletic meets re-opened after three years of suspension, Governor James Edduba stressed the importance of support to yKalinga athletes.


Among sports activities scheduled to return is the Kalinga Provincial Athletic Meet which is slated on April 13-16 at Macutay-Palao National High School in Rizal.


Kalinga Provincial Information Officer Dionica Mercado relayed that the governor wants a hands-on approach for said event, requiring government officials to supervise closely its preparation.


He asserted the importance of the provincial meet as this is the selection of athletes who will be representing Kalinga in the Cordillera Administrative Region Athletic Association (CARAA) meet also in April this year. He added it is also a training ground for players.

“It has been years nga kanayon nga mauudi tayo nga Kalinga nu CARAA. This time kuma ket let us double our efforts and aim higher. Ket makita nga kasasapulan talaga daytoy suporta nga aggapu kanya tayo,” he said.


Edduba likewise wanted to ensure quality food, facilities, and training for the athletes who will be chosen to compose the Kalinga delegation for this year’s CARAA meet.
